Dogman takes place in an Italian suburb somewhere between metropolis and wild nature. Marcello, a small and gentle dog groomer, finds himself involved in a dangerous relationship of subjugation with Simone, a former violent boxer who terrorizes the entire neighborhood. Matteo Garrone
Matteo Garrone, born in 1968 in Rome, graduated of an art school. He worked for two years as an assistant cameraman, then devoted himself to painting. In 1996, he won the Golden Sacher Award from Nanni Moretti for his short film Silhouette.
In 1997, he created his own production company, Archimède, and directed Terra di mezzo. He then directed Ospiti in 1998, then Estate Romane in 2000, successfully presented in international festivals.
