Michel Franco
Michel Franco was born in 1979 in Mexico City, Mexico. He is a producer and writer. He began his career as a director of short films. His first feature film, Daniel y Ana (2009), was selected for the Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes Festival. With his second film, Después de Lucía (2012), he received the award “Un Certain Regard” at Cannes, in addition to mentions at the Chicago, San Sebastian, London and Havana festivals. He co-directed his third film, A los ojos (2013), with his sister, Victoria Franco. Chronic won the Best Screenplay Award at the 2015 Cannes Festival.
