Between his tax problems and his legal battle with his wife for the custody of his daughter, these are hard times for the action movie star who finds that even Steven Seagal has pinched a role from him! In JCVD, Jean-Claude Van Damme returns to the country of his birth to seek the peace and tranquility he can no longer enjoy in the United States.

Mabrouk El Mechri
Born on 18 September 1976 in Versailles, El Mechri began his career in 1995 as the assistant to director Mathieu Kassovitz. He then went on to direct three short films: Mounir and Anita in 1998, Génération cutter in 2000 and Concours de circonstances in 2003. If Virgil is his first long film, it is JCVD who will reveal him as director. He launched himself in the TV series in 2010 with Maison Close. In 2012, he will release his spy film The Cold Light of Day, which will be a commercial failure. Since 2018 he continues in television with the police series Nox broadcast on Canal+.
